We have invited some experienced early childhood educators to share their insights into making simple interactive toys that support young children’s development. Learning science processes, such as observation, experimentation, and reflection, forms an important foundation for later acquisition of science content. Learning science processes in the infant and toddler years involves observation of the physical world through all senses. Simple toys support young children in practicing science processes by offering obvious cause and effect chains that allow them to grasp the predictable rules of the physical world through their own senses and experience. In this workshop you will make simple toys that you can modify as your child grows.
