Learning science processes, such as observation, experimentation, and reflection, forms an important foundation for later acquisition of science content.
In the infant and toddler years, young scientists are highly engaged in observation and exploration of the physical world through all senses. Simple toys support young children in practicing science processes by offering obvious cause and effect chains that allow them to grasp the predictable rules of the physical world through their own senses and experience.
